More secure mobile connections with TIM and Telsy

Telsy cybersecurity
Our increasingly digitalised lives and works mean more endpoints vulnerable to attacks and data breaches. That’s where services like Telsy’s come in, offering secure and private tools to secure devices and entire networks

The future of communications and computing focuses on mobile devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones with desktop-computer functionality. Their portability, advanced operating systems and processing power make them ideal for use anywhere with an internet connection. But this also increases the risk of attacks and data breaches, as such devices become increasingly vulnerable.

Authentication and authorisation via mobile devices are convenient but remove the security constraints of a secure corporate network. New advanced features, such as multi-touch screens and high-quality cameras, influence the authentication method and increase the number of endpoints to protect from cyber threats.

As the Internet of Things grows, the number of devices connected to the Internet will increase dramatically, making cybersecurity even more crucial to protect cars, cameras, medical devices and other connected objects. Suffice it to say that by 2025, more than 75 billion devices could be connected to the Internet, including cameras, thermostats, locks, smart TVs, status monitors, lighting systems and many other devices.

Telsy – TIM Group’s competence centre for communications security, cybersecurity and quantum security operating within TIM Enterprise – offers two solutions: TelsySpywareDetector, a solution designed to proactively monitor the security status of mobile devices and protect them from mobile malware and advanced threats, and to detect the possible presence of spyware in mobile devices; and TelsyMobileDefender, a cloud solution that provides all the tools needed to manage, monitor and protect Android and iOS devices from data theft and cyber intrusions.

Increasingly organised and sophisticated threat actors pose a significant validation problem for mobile devices used by prominent personalities, which could be targeted and compromised precisely to manage offensive intelligence operations.

TelsySpywareDetector, in its Traffic version, is a detector that allows companies and top managers to proactively monitor the security status of mobile devices to protect them from mobile malware and advanced threats without sacrificing the end user’s personal data. It allows monitoring of smartphones’ network traffic when connected to an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network without any installation on the device.

TelsySpywareDetector, in its Device version, is a solution designed to detect spyware in mobile devices without compromising user privacy. It allows for the analysis of processes, executions and file ownership so as to detect anomalies on the mobile device without any installation on the device or connection.

Finally, TelsyMobileDefender provides all the tools needed to manage, monitor and protect Android and iOS devices from data theft and computer intrusions. An Endpoint Management system and a Threat Defence (MTD) module coexist within it. The latter is integrated by Telsy with the SIEM (Security Information and Event Management, which uses AI and correlation algorithms to detect suspicious activity) and the SOC (Security Operation Center, a group of security experts constantly operating to ensure real-time threat detection and prevention), guaranteeing three lines of defence. Over 200 restrictions (such as blocking app downloads, creating password policies, and Wi-Fi connection security levels) can be activated.
