Between the lines: Speaking to Repubblica and Il Messaggero ahead of his meeting at Palazzo Chigi, Zelensky said he “trusts Meloni” in the ongoing peace efforts. Asked about U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks urging elections in Ukraine, he replied: “I am always ready for elections.”

Zelensky at the Vatican
