Over three hundred Italian MPs are calling for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) designation as a terrorist organization.
- 307 Italian MPs from various political parties have signed a declaration urging the international community “to support the Iranian people in their efforts to change the grave situation in Iran and to take decisive steps against the current regime”. Among these actions, they call for the designation of the IRGC in the lists of terrorist groups “and the closure of Iranian embassies involved in supporting terrorist activities.”
- In Italy, there are a total of 600 elected representatives between the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
The appeal is part of the initiatives of the representation of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Italy, in view of the annual Iranian Resistance Congress on July 1st, where Iranians from all over Europe will participate in a demonstration in Paris in support of the Iranian people’s desire to end the theocratic dictatorship and establish a democratic republic.
- The declaration expresses its support for the ten-point platform of NCRI President Maryam Rajavi for the future of Iran, “envisioning free elections, freedom of thought, speech, and assembly, abolition of the death penalty, gender equality, separation of religion from the state, autonomy of the different nationalities present in the country, and abandonment of nuclear weapons. These are the same values we uphold in democratic countries,” the statement reads.
